Tim Tebow - What a Leader

I have been on the sidelines watching the Tim Tebow circus that started when the Broncos went on a six game winning streak last NFL football season.  Watching him lead the Broncos to the Playoffs and winning their first round game against the Steelers in overtime was amazing.  When the Broncos chose to bring Payton Manning in and be the starting QB, I was interested to watch to see how Tim Tebow would respond.  Well, to say that I was impressed is an understatement.

Without putting a man up too high on a pedestal, Tim Tebow is a man who obviously is a Christ follower.  Watching the News Conference that the Jets hosted today proved that God is in control of this man's life.  When questioned about other players, coaches, difficult NFL situations with leadership in the organization, Tim chose to respond with humbleness and respect.  Many comments he made were "politically correct", but Tim is a man who is true to who he is - a follower of Christ.

When asked about his faith - which we as believers interpret as our relationship with Christ, Tim was strong to state who he was - a Follower of Jesus Christ.  I think of Romans 12:1-2, Philippians 1:21, 1 Corinthians 11:1 as verses that tell us to live for Christ first in all things.

I have a 10 year old son, and I am so proud of Tim Tebow being the man of integrity, humbleness and strength...a man that I can point to and tell my son to be like.

Question for you and me today is simple.  We did not have news conference for the world to see today, yet each and every day we have an opportunity to be who we are in Christ to our neighbors, our co-workers or the people we stand in line with at the grocery store.  Will we stand up today for Christ?  It could change eternity forever.
