And you thought that it could not get any better for our team, and then there was Monday! We feel the Lord's presence with us as we serve and care for the needs of the children at Naomi's Village. As we are serving, God is revealing himself to us personally as we are here in Kenya. Our daily challenge was "Where are you?". As God pursues each one of us, where are we with our relationship with Him? Are we serving to serve or are we serving in response to a relationship we have with the Lord. Are we allowing sin in our lives to distract us from God and his will for our lives or are we being honest with the Lord and laying our lives down for him in every way. God is teaching us so much. Please continue to pray for us as we seek the Lord individually and collectively! This is a great team!
Our adventure today was taking the kids to Naivasha to spend the day swimming and playing at a special place reserved for us called Crayfish Resort. It was a treat to spend the day playing with the kids and learning their names and laughing until my side hurt! This was a special treat for all of us. Cottonwood Creek paid for this outing for the kids, so thank you to the special donations that were made to make this happen for the kids.
On the way back, it was tremendous! We experienced something that we would never see in the US. We first saw a Hippopotamus in the lake as we left, then a herd of Zebras and Gazelles on the side of the road and..wait for it... 7 GIRAFFES!!! It was mind blowing!! Just driving along the highway to look outside the window and see them was outrageous!! All of these animals were just roaming around free. What a blessing to experience it!
Relationships are growing in our team. Tonight with the kids playing Ultimate Frisbee and holding babies at dinner time just made our day complete. We look forward to what God will do with us tomorrow as we visit Safe House and lead with VBS.
