Dear Friends and Family,
We boarded the plane for Dallas/Fort Worth last night at 11pm! We all tried our best to get as much sleep as possible on the plane, but it was difficult! Thank you Lord for Tylenol PM! We landed safely here in Paris at 6:20am. We are now waiting to board the plane at 11:30am to be home at 2:55p. It is an 8 hour flight! YEE HAA! Cannot wait to see everyone.
Walking off the airport into Paris is truly culture shock. We went from one extreme of a third world country and stepped into Channel, Starbucks and more Duty Free Shopping. We all feel like we are in a dream. I think the biggest obstacle our team is going to be faced with over the next couple of days is adjusting to the experience we all had for the past 10 days together. Many times we shared with one another what our life will be like once we get back to our world. We will be forever changed because of our experience, but how? How will we be changed? What will be different? Our worldview of things has shifted so dramatically - for the better! Now what?
We will each answer this question differently. We will each respond differently to circumstances when we get home. How will we respond? Our prayer as a team is this passage from the Bible.
Philippians 2:1-11 which speaks to the unity and bond of Christ that only comes when we focus and fix our eyes on Christ - the author and perfecter of our faith. Life will forever be different for this amazing team, and if we respond with Christ as our example, then He will receive all the honor and glory. IT IS ALL ABOUT GOD and His movement. Might we join Him on the journey!!
Here was our final picture at Naomi's Village - which will be hanging in my office for years to come! Thanks for your prayers and look forward to being home in 12 hours!!
