Worship & Arts Ministry - Why We Exist!

Worship & Arts Ministry Purpose Statement:
To passionately know God through music and the arts
We use three pillars to guide us as a ministry as we pursue God together on a daily basis:
Core, Character and Craft

CORE:
What is at the center of an apple? An apple CORE.  What is at the center of an avocado?  An avocado CORE.  What is at the solid center of the earth?  Once again, the CORE.  All existence centers around the foundational structure of the CORE.  Look at your life today and ask your self the question...what is your CORE?  What is the center part of your life that you build all of your life upon?  Is the answer to this question something temporal or eternal?  Is it something tangible or intangible?
As the Worship & Arts Ministry, we hold unswervingly to the fact of Jesus Christ being our CORE - the center of all of our lives and existence.  Without Jesus at the center of our life and ministry, then we would cease to exist!  If Jesus is not in the center of your life today, then re-evaluate your CORE values and how you live your life.

Luke 6:47-49  As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
CHARACTER:
The true depiction of a person who lives their life with true character?  What do you think?  Words like "upright", "above reproach", "integrity", "humble" and more can describe a person who has character.  They live this way because they are reflecting their heart's desire and "living out" in action what they believe.  As a ministry, what should our character look like?  I turn to scripture to answer this question.

Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Romans 5:3-5  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment   And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
We see the common thread of character is love - putting others before ourselves and treating others with love and respect.  That is the character Jesus taught us and this is how He lived his life!
What about you and your approach to applying this to our ministry?  Might our character reflect these scriptures as we lead worship as a ministry!
CRAFT
God has crafted us with many different abilities.  Some are in technical arts running a camera, some are playing instruments and some with singing.  Even in these areas, the ability and craft can vary.  Even though we are all different in our ability, the fact is that God has given each one of us a craft to use for Him - to worship Him.  No matter what ability you have, offer your craft up to the Lord and allow Him to lead you as you serve Him.  Work on your craft to get better and present your life to God without holding anything back!  He deserves your best!  Give Him your best!

The Three C's - Allow them to guide us as a ministry team and lead us as the Spirit of God leads us daily to share Jesus with our community!
